Label everything with your child's name.
Have your child check lost and found daily.
Campers will need to have all of their belongings in a tote bag or backpack.
Lake Nixon cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen items.
What To Bring To Camp
- A water bottle
- Comfortable clothing your child can get dirty in!
- Swim suit (many campers choose to come in a swimsuit each day)
- Towel
- Closed-toed shoes (Flip Flops, Crocs, sports sandals or other open toed shoes can lead
to serious foot injuries) - Light jacket/rain jacket (when needed; so watch the weather reports)
- Sunscreen (SPF 30-50)
- Insect repellent (or spray at home before coming)
- Lunch (including a drink), unless you are ordering a Lake Nixon lunch that day.
- Medications (If your camper takes daytime meds).
- Items such as hats or sunglasses are optional. Please remember that the more things brought to camp, the more things there are to keep up with and potentially lose.
- Campers may bring fishing poles and tackle. For safety and humanitarian reasons, we encourage the use of barbless hooks (sometimes called “trout hooks”). Please do not bring or use treble hooks at Lake Nixon.
What NOT To Bring To Camp
- CELL PHONES OR ELECTRONICS
- Anything of value that could be lost and/or cannot be replaced
- Knives, firearms, or weapons of any kind
- Headphones or earbuds
- “Treble” fishing hooks
- Money, credit cards or gift cards
- Personal sports equipment such as baseball bats, archery equipment or football gear
- Toys, such as Pokemon cards or stuffed animals
- Drugs and/or alcohol or tobacco products, including e-cigarettes and vape
- Pets of any kind. Note: Service animals are not pets.
