Opportunities for Giving

(Your gifts to Lake Nixon will be received and designated appropriately by the Second Serving Foundation, an independent 501c3 non-profit organization that exists to support the external ministries of Second Baptist Church, (downtown) Little Rock)

Camp Archery Equipment

In 2021 we were able to borrow archery equipment from the Archery In The Schools program and it was a big hit!

This Giving Tuesday (2022) we are asking for your help so that we can purchase a full set (adult/child bows, arrows, targets, net, etc.) of our own equipment from AITS. This will ensure that we have all that we need whenever we need it.

It’s also a BIG step forward in our mission to provide a camp that provides an accessible opportunity to have fun, learn new skills, and grow relationships with each other and with God’s creation.

We need about $4,000 for this purchase. That’s 40, $100 donations (or 80, $50 gifted). Any gifts received above that amount will be designated toward the Summer 2023 camp scholarship and sustaining fund.

Scholarship and Sustainability Fund

Help camp change lives! Gifts to this fund make Lake Nixon financially possible for some and accessible for all.

Thanks to generous gifts, more than 11% of all campers received full or partial financial assistance in 2022, and we were able to use $25,000 to subsidize camp tuition for many more!

Our goal for 2022-23 is to raise $40,000. Every gift makes a difference!

Ralph and Jo Jones Family Scholarship Endowment

A powerful investment in the lives of current and future Lake Nixon campers! Established in 2021, annual interest from this endowment will go directly toward each year’s camp scholarships.

Lake Nixon Outdoor Preschool

Your gifts will support the work of this unique, year-round, all-weather early childhood program.

Trail Construction

Let’s build something special together! Together with hundreds of volunteers (more than 500 volunteer hours in 2021) we are currently building miles of multi-use (mountain biking, hiking, trail running) trails at the Lake Nixon Outdoor Center. A gift to this fund will make it possible for us to work with professional trail builders (and machinery) to make faster progress and take on especially hard sections.
