Job Opportunities at Lake Nixon

Operations Coordinator

Want to be part of something special? As the Lake Nixon Outdoor Center continues our work to share opportunities for recreation, education, and sanctuary in this beautiful place, we want to grow our capacity to serve our community by adding to our year-round staff team.

The new Operations Coordinator will report to the Executive Director and will provide administrative support for our two primary programs–Summer Day Camp and Outdoor Preschool–and will also oversee logistics for group rentals and community events. General areas of responsibility include admissions/enrollment management, communication with parents and rental event guests, basic financial reporting, and more. In addition, this new staff member will work with the Executive Director to provide general organizational support, including communications and resource development.

Qualifications: a Bachelor’s degree and previous administrative experience are both preferred but not required. Social media and website editing experience are a plus, but not required. We are most concerned with finding candidates who demonstrate these characteristics:

Professionalism in written and verbal communication;

Ability to develop and manage multiple systems and processes;

Comfortable in the digital world. From collaborative document editing to scheduling to video calls to social media, an ability to work in an environment that relies on cloud-based tools and workflows.

Strong organizational skills – including time management/prioritization;

Proactive/Problem-solving mentality (eagerness to learn and willingness to create new systems when and where needed);

Attention to detail;

Identification with the mission of Lake Nixon (see more below);

Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.

Salary and Benefits: full-time salary ranging from $37,000-$40,000, depending on experience and qualifications, plus benefits. Qualified applicants interested in slightly less than full-time hours are also invited to apply.

The Lake Nixon Outdoor Center (www.lakenixon.com) is an inclusive ministry of Second Baptist Church, downtown Little Rock (www.2bclr.com). Applicants need not be 2BC members or Baptist, but should be generally supportive of the church and its commitments and aware that Lake Nixon staff are indirect representatives of the congregation.
