New for Summer 2023 — Leaders in Training Program (LIT)

Who?

• • Students ENTERING 10th-12th Grades

Why?

• • Learn what it takes to succeed as a summer staff member
  • Invest in yourself as you enter a new phase of life with new opportunities and new responsibilities
  • Be part of camp in a whole new way!

When?

• • One Three-week Session (JUNE 12 – JUNE 30)
  • 9AM – 4PM, MONDAY-FRIDAY (extended day available at an additional cost)

What?

• • LIT program participants will
    • Explore leadership roles and participate in sessions that will benefit your personal DEVELOPMENT and CAREER READINESS (for example, learning about resumes, job applications, and more)
    • Have the chance to earn CPR/First Aid and LIFEGUARD* certifications
    • Plan and execute a LEGACY service project that will leave a visible memory at Lake Nixon
    • Participate in some of the classic, fun-in-the-sun camp activities!

How Much?

• • $750.00, for the entire 3-week session ($250/week). This includes the cost of first aid and CPR training as well as the lifeguard certification exam.

*LIT participants who pass the lifeguard exam may be eligible to join the Lake Nixon lifeguarding staff for the remainder of the summer. They may also be able to work as a lifeguard during Lake Nixon rental events for the remainder of the season (and beyond). All LIT participants will take part in a lifeguard training program, but we cannot guarantee that all will pass the certification exam.
