Mandy joined the Lake Nixon team in January 2024 and now serves as the year-round Assistant Director for the Lake Nixon Outdoor Center. She is a native Arkansan and a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas where she studied geography and linguistics. Mandy is a passionate advocate for mental health and wellness. She loves sailing, camping, hiking, crafting, traveling, and deep dives into learning new things.

Mandy and her family moved to Little Rock in 2020. After homeschooling her kids for many years, she was excited to take on a new adventure–something consistent with her values and that would positively impact her community and environment. Lake Nixon is a perfect fit because it combines so many things she loves: spending time outdoors every day, being part of a unique educational experience that provides healthy activity for bodies, hearts, and minds, and engaging in and promoting Creation care. Connecting with campers and camp families is the very best part of her job.
