Sam Williamson

Assistant Camp Director

After spending the majority of his childhood living just up the road from camp, Sam came on staff at Lake Nixon in the summer of 2018 as the Praise and Worship Leader. Since then, he has worked as the Head Counselor and now occupies the role of Assistant Director. A lifetime of serving in churches, four years spent studying Elementary Education at the University of Central Arkansas, and a love for all things outdoors have brought him to this wonderful place where the campers dubbed him “Big Cheese.”
Sam also has a passion for all things creative. He’s spent the last few years being a pop culture journalist for a few online media outlets, plays music any time he can (currently fascinated by slapping the bass), spends way too much money on records, geeks out about movies at every opportunity, loves a good jog, and is currently in the middle of John Steinbeck’s classic novel, “Tortilla Flat.”
