“Thanksgiving” at Camp

Week 5 of this past summer was “Thanksgiving Week”! Throughout the week, we reflected on our reasons for gratitude, and we had an opportunity to experience how giving and receiving go together.

In Arts and Crafts time, campers wrote reasons to be thankful on paper “leaves.”

Throughout the week, everyone had the opportunity to bring food donations that were taken to the Arkansas Food Bank to share with our neighbors experiencing food insecurity.

Finally, on the last day of the week, we started a new tradition by moving dozens of picnic tables down to the end of the lake, so that we could sit at one long table for a camp family feast and “Thanksgiving” meal.

We thank You for the wind, the rain, the sun, and pleasant weather;
We thank You for this our food, and that we are together.
Amen!
