At Lake Nixon Outdoor Preschool, we don’t hibernate during the winter months . . . we make the most of them!
From warm, sunny days to wet chilly ones–and everything in between–we’ve continued to learn and grow this year. Each day we go outside, enjoy our friends, and get to know the world around us.
We celebrated 100 days of school in January. We celebrated Bird Month all through February. Bird month included a visit with the Birds of Prey from the Delta Rivers Nature Center, and regular learning activities with passionate birder and super-volunteer, Ms. Janet Nye!

We’ve had a busy schedule of guest readers this year, too—parents and grandparents, NCCC AmeriCorps members, and more! We’re always glad for our guest readers and always excited to welcome new ones.
Each day is a new adventure at LNOP! Come see for yourself by emailing lakenixonpreschool@2bclr.com to sign up for a tour, or by filling out an interest form. So far this year we’ve had four tours for groups of prospective parents and the remaining open spots for the ’23-24 school year are filling quickly. This August we will, for the first time, start the year with a full kindergarten class alongside our 3-5 year olds.
