As we greet 2022 and look back on 2021 . . .
. . . we have so many reasons to give thanks!
For MLK Day of Service helpers in January, a winter wonderland in February, and our new camp director:
For the opportunity to host Second Baptist Church worship services (other congregations are welcome to inquire about availability for reservations):
For the launch of our new multi-use trail project, and hundreds of volunteers (and many hundreds of hours of sweat and toil!). We hope to finish the first 1.5-mile loop before the start of camp 2022:
For another summer of day camp after an unprecedented year “off”:
For the Lake Nixon Outdoor Preschool, its hard-working staff and wonderful parents who entrust their littles to their care:
For outdoor fun during the magical fall season:
For a great time at what we expect to be the first of years of “Christmas at Lake Nixon” celebrations (thanks especially to the talented students from Parkview High School!):
For generous donors who join in making recreation, education, and sanctuary at Lake Nixon possible:
We’re especially grateful for a gift from the McKinney family, in memory of their parents, J.V. and Mary Ann, beloved members of Second Baptist and longtime supporters of Lake Nixon. Thanks to them, our camp buildings received a *much-needed* facelift!
The McKinney family was one of the original families who gave sacrificially to help the church purchase Lake Nixon back in 1969. Now, half a century later, their legacy is helping to launch us into a new chapter.
Stay tuned for more news about what’s ahead, and to learn about all the ways that you, too, can make a difference for all those who receive the gift of Lake Nixon– now and for years to come!
